Thanks to Grandma (and the Hillman fam) for this fun getaway. As great as it was to have a relaxing evening together, we missed the 4 little creatures who provide us with a different kind of R&R...

A little R&R at a little B&B
Our anniversary gift from my sweet Mother-in-law was a night at a Bed & Breakfast in town. Though our anniversary is at the end of May, shortly after that things went downhill in a hurry with my Mommy's situation. So this was our first opportunity to take advantage of the offer. It was the perfect time for a getaway...

I thought I was done with B&B's after a couple of unfortunate experiences. Most notably, a VERY musty, dirty old house that gave me the creeps. Think Amityville. Or maybe Poltergeist. But now, after this experience, B&B's are back on my good list. At least this one is. The first "B" was very similar to an heirloom bed my mother had, so that was sweet...
And the second "B" did not disappoint either...
They had lots of nice extra's like pop in the fridge, cookies and cake, popcorn, a huge library of dvd's and even a whole bunch of theatre candy to choose from. Junior Mints, anyone? They even provided 3D glasses...
A highlight of our night was the necklace Bill bought for me. It is brand new and exclusively at Ten Thousand villages. It is made from coffee beans by women in, of course, Ethiopia...
I love it. Plus, he surprised me by buying it for me when we were supposed to just be window shopping. For a girl whose love language is gifts and who loves surprises, this was date night nirvana. Honey, you had me at "I'm buying it for you". Yep, he's a keeper...
See how I'm clutching onto him as if I won't ever let go? That's 'cuz I won't.

Rowdy and Rambunctious.

hooray! congrats on the getaway, and DOUBLE congrats on the great necklace from Ten Thousand Villages! I actually work for that company (going on 7 years) and gave that same necklace to my sister-in-law after they adopted from Ethiopia! great minds think alike ...
How fun!! You all are such an adorable couple, make that family. We are going away for a night, the first time since bringing the boys home...i am so very excited!
I am going to go check out Ten Thousand Villages-i like cute things with purpse :)
Good job getting away. it's so hard to prioritize marriage over kids because they're so demanding but SO important!
Hmmm...that looks like the Atwood, am I correct? Lovely place, lovely host & hostess. So glad you got to have a romantic getaway. Love the new necklace :)
LOVE the "daddy look" on Bill's face when you're kissing him on the cheek! And guess what? I bought your birthday gift, Little Miss Gift Love Language! Not for next year...for this year...since you bought your own gift from me! I decided that just wasn't right...especially considering the love language thing! I love you.
