Look out world!

Gone are the training wheels.
Gone is the joy of wearing that Power Rangers costume day after day.
Gone are the days of preschool.
And gone are the days of being my constant companion all day long ("NO, Mom, not Target again!")
Look out world, this guy is going to Kindergarten!
And this Mom is going to bawl her eyes out.

One thing that helps me in my emotional instability is that
he is so excited. He wears his new backpack around the house with the tags still on it.When discussing how
we were going to handle lunch his response was "Oh yeah baby...hot lunch!"

And when I asked him what he was going to miss when he goes off to Kindergarten, his answer was "Ruby!"
The dog. Of course.
Because she housed and nourished you in her body for 9 long months. And she suffered through childbirth (okay, okay I had an
epidural...it wasn't that bad) to bring you into this world. And she makes your meals while only
complaining 3 days a week about it.

What does the dog do? She lounges around shedding her hair all over and nudges houseguests in the crotch.
But she's the one he's going to miss.
I get no respect.

But, the point in being a Mom isn't how much my child misses or loves me. The point is how I get
the amazing privilege of loving and knowing and raising these kids.
I'm gonna miss you, Jack.

P.S. Try not to end up in the Principal's office too often, okay?

you are crackin' me up! Hilarious. Gotta love 'em - or they'll send us to the crazy house...oh wait, we're there. :)

Oh, man! Is he big enough to go to Kindergarten? Wow. I am with you, though...I feel like I'm sending all 3 of them off to Kindergarten (and have shed many tears myself!) You'll be fine...and so will he. How will Ruby be? Maybe I could bring Molly over...she's gonna be sad and lonely here for sure!!

Wanna come cry at my house over coffee the first day? I have to take 2 little boys to a new school...Toby is pretty nervous and Tyler, well it is going to be very hard. What am I gonna do with only 2 kids for the day?!

I'll keep an eye on him Missy. :) If he does anything particularly noteworthy during the day, I'll shoot you an e-mail. Also, if you could instruct him that if he has to throw up to not do it in front of my desk, that would be great.

Take the first week and do something each day that you haven't been able to do with little ones at home and celebrate this short burst of freedom before #4 arrives!

Oh my word...you're not going to let Jack go to school as a Power Ranger? Why not???? : ) I think that's what he was wearing one of the first times we met him!

Hoping it's at least as week before you're blogging about that first phone call from the school...

Why not wear the costume? It's his school uniform! Or better yet-put Ruby in the costume and send her too!

Miss- I'm at work right now...and I just laughed OUT LOUD when I read the part about Ruby nudging guests in the crotch. Truer words were neeeever spoken.

Your kids are so precious, Missy! So honored to have had a small part in their lives! Love you so much!

abrupt change o' subject: i think ry has that same bike, and we just took his training wheels off... so far, we are still holding on, though. :)
