What have I done?

Lulu has enjoyed her tummy time since before we even brought her home which has given her some pretty good upper body strength. Check out those guns...
Doesn't she look proud of herself?

For weeks she has been vigorously rocking back and forth on all fours, but she had not figured out that she could move her arms...
This accomplishment hasn't been fully celebrated the way it should be by her Momma. My kids think I'm selfish for vehemently opposing how they try to coax her to crawl, and they may be right. But since she's been home less than 2 months, in some ways I feel like I have a 2 month old baby. And no "2 month" old baby should be on the verge of crawling!

She had no forward motion, only scooting herself awkwardly backwards. UNTIL her mother mistakenly left her Sonic Limeade Chiller (have you had those? If you like Key Lime Pie, you must partake!!) on the ground a few feet from the blanket Lulu was playing on. The unsuspecting mother went to check on something in the kitchen and came back to find...

Forward motion! I guess she was presented with the right kind of motivation. She is my daughter after all.

She doesn't move very quickly so life as we know it has not changed dramatically yet. We will have to clear the decks pretty soon though. She has already made her way over to Ruby's nasty football, not an ideal play toy for a baby...
Unless you are okay with your child chewing on gangrene.

Maybe Bill has come up with a new containment system we could try...
By the way, thanks for the encouragement about my sadness. It's not adoption related. I will be blogging about it at some point, I'm just not ready to yet.

I can't believe she is crawling! Oh no! I can totally relate... I got upset when Havi decided she wanted to sit by herself right after we got home.... if you are sad about Sonic getting rid of their chocolate cream pie shakes, I can totally relate. I mourned for weeks.... that is probably not it, but still something to be sad about.

I know "they" say don't compare the looks of your adopted children to your bio. children, but OH MY WORD... Lulu looks so much like Jack in the face. I love it!!

She is SO cute! And yes, I ordered a Classic Sonic Chiller last night and it cracked me up that you love them as much as I do. :)

I would also crawl to get a Sonic Lime Cooler.

You have awfully cute laundry!

Great...now you've gone and made me have to run out to Sonic this afternoon to try that new drink! I had a lot of cleaning to do, too, but I'll just have to blame my messy house on you. :)

Okay - I tried it. So yummy. I can't resist anything that tastes like key lime pie. My Tate loved it also and asked if we could go back again today. ha! I considered it.

Missy,
I am not sure how I stumbled on your blogs but our similarities are eerie:) We have 3 bio boys and brought home our adopted daughter from Ethiopia in July. Her nickname is Lulu like your luci. Her full name is Lulit Hope Rediet. Can you believe that? I saw that Rediet was your daughters middle name as well. I just wanted to post because I thought it was fun! I love your blog. I am not a blogger but really enjoy connecting with other Ethiopian adoptive moms:)
