get ready, get set...WAIT!

We said goodbye to an old friend this week: our dossier.
That little stinker represents a lot of work, frustration, and prayers.
After anxiously awaiting being able to send it off,
I was kind of sad to say good-bye.
That's why I took it back from the Fed Ex lady to take a picture of it.
She gave me the "What are you, a freak??" look that I've
become rather acumstomed to in life.
I'm pretty sure only families that are adopting take photos of paperwork.
I guess spies do it too.
(At least Sydney Bristow did.)
We don't have ultrasound pictures or a baby moving inside of us.
One thing we do have is paperwork.
Blessed paperwork.
This marks the end of the first phase of our adoption.
This marks the end of the time when we can actually be doing
something to bring our baby home.
That's had a comforting sense of purpose.
It also marks the beginning of waiting.
We are officially on the wait list now.
Number 28 on the girl list.
Okay, technically that is also last on the list.
But we are on the list, for which I am thankful.
I want to see the purpose in this time of waiting too.
I know I'll get impatient.
It might feel insufferably long at times.
But I hope I see this as a time of prayer, preparation and sanctification.
God is working out His purpose for our family.

I know that You can do all things and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.
Job 42:2

I KNOW the look the FedEx lady gave you; I've seen it myself. It's not quite as stange a look as the poor FedEx man gave me when I asked him if I could take a picture of him holding Micah & Noah's referral packets when they came. He probably thought he needed backup from this CRAZY woman wanting a picture!

Oh, what we do for our kiddos...
CONGRATS on sending away the dossier. All I can say is that my daughter better be home before yours is!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay!!! One step closer to your angel :) Don't worry about Fed Ex...If I'd been the one to answer the door the morning our expedited visas to Kyrg arrived I'd have kissed the guy! (Tim probably wouldn't have liked that, huh?) Now we need to have a date to go buy some new baby girl stuff.

Thrilled for you! YaY!

okay...word nerd alert...but as I was reading that, all I could think was, "They're pregnant with joyful anticipation!"

[preg⋅nant: fraught, filled, *abounding* (usually followed by with): a silence pregnant with suspense.]

am I just a huge dork? absolutely. but one must come to accept these things about oneself and make the best of the situation... :)

Congrats! That is a HUGE accomplishment. I'm almost done with the homestudy packet. I wish I had my dossier done too, I keep thinking, I'm going to have to do this all over again in a few months!! I am so excited for you!

I've always liked the term "pregnant on paper". It sounds soooo much more comfortable than the other way.

You've made me miss Alias now.

Sweet, you sent off your dossier! We just got our copy of our finalized homestudy and are sending our paperwork today! Woohoo! Oh what a feeling of relief, maybe we will travel together? Who knows? We don't know what our time frame is like since we already have our referral. Hmmm, maybe we will get to meet one of these days??
