her name is luci. l-u-c-i. we spelled it "wrong". i think because we liked the way it looked with her middle name (may) and i wanted her to be able to make a heart to dot the "i" in her name when she was in middle school. but it has it's challenges. such as:
- no cups or little flashlights with her name on it
- having to constantly spell her name as soon as i say it
- her own mother misspelling her name on the last line of her birthday post.
learn from me, people. just spell your kids' names the normal way. or give them a nickname that's ridiculously easy to spell...

And you didn't want her to have to have that annoying "y" that hangs down below the signature lines of credit cards and other documents like we have. :-)
Hmmmmmm . . . seems like I've heard this advice somewhere before. ;)
So my legal name is Amanda but my parents always called me Mandi. By the time I was nine, I was so annoyed at EVERYONE misspelling it (even my brother) that I changed to Amanda for about 20 years. Now I'm back to Mandi and here's why: 1. I like it. 2. Now that my last name is Martin, Amanda and Martin together is way too common. 3. I figure with the technology age we live in, people can see my name written more than just hearing it. Unfortunately, even with my name AS my email address, people still us the "y." 4. I've concluded that I don't care if others misspell it, because the way it is SUPPOSED to be spelled is special and unique. And that's the way I like it.
NO! I always wanted a "fun" name when I was a teen. Online personalization websites are key
I just LOVE your blog!!! You crack me up with your honesty, love of all things 80's, adoption, and the list goes on and on..... consider me another fan! Hope to meet you in real life someday :o) Blessings, Denise
Haha, cute spelling:)
My name is Luci-May, and my Luci was spelt with an i for the same reason - my parents thought it looked better when combined with May. I've spent my whole life being told my name is spelt wrong! But Lulu is hard to get wrong (and is very cute and fitting for your Luci May!)
