i have heard that diet coke is, like, bad for you. i don't pay much attention because i am, like, addicted to it. but i have learned that it is also bad for computers. being the experiential learner that i am, i decided to spill diet coke on my computer to learn this lesson.
my computer immediately got all poltergeist-y. it wouldn't let me type the letters v and f, but it incessantly was typing the letter v on it's own.
after a computer guru stepped in a saved the day, i only needed to replace the keyboard and i was good to go.
for a week.
now the testy little fella is acting up again.
giving me the distinct impression that a new computer might be on my horizon.
that's where you come in.
i need you to weigh in.
i blog.
i email.
i dabble in facebook.
i write a few talks.
i love photos and take way too many of them.
i would dig making videos.
i don't learn new systems quickly.
money doesn't grow on trees.
given those facts, what say you,
mac or pc?
discuss amongst yourselves.

Girl...I think you are my twin sister...separated at birth! (We even named our sons the same NAME!) Your list of "requirements" would be my exact list. That being said, I (obviously) cannot help you here. In fact, the other day, someone asked me if my laptop was a PC. I said, "What's a PC?" Yes. It's 2011.
Once you go Mac, you'll never EVER want to go back!
Ditto on the Mac! They are amazing, don't get viruses, and have amazing programs like iphoto and imovie. Mac's may be a little more spendy, but I've had 4 different kinds of PC's now a Mac and I would NEVER go back!
GO MAC!!!
I love the mac that LPS is loaning me while I teach for them. Seriously, it's great. A little hard to get used to the differences at first, but it's so awesome now that I'm accustomed to it. Go for the mac!
I'm gonna have to jump on the mac bandwagon. My PC crashed last fall and we decided to "just check out" the mac store to compare laptops. We were convinced we would not leave with one. But, they were uber helpful - they don't let you leave the store until your computer is completely set up and ready to go - I've always hated having to do this on my own at home when I have no idea what I'm doing. And, how can you not love a place with a "genius bar" of techies to solve all your problems? I've been using my mac for almost a year and love it! (even though imovie is a little bit more complicated than I'm used to) P.S. Also left the store that day with two iphones. Hmmmm...maybe I'm a sucker? :)
If I could have a mac, I would totally have a mac. The church just got one for Rick and I have laptop envy almost every day. Bite the bullet and get a mac, Miss.
you will LOVE a mac Missy! LOVE it!!!
Here's my contribution...that's why I drink diet coke with lime because the fruit balances out the unhealthiness of the diet coke. Also, please come home. I miss you.
P.S. I don't want to dog on all the "macamaniacs," but I'm not sure they read the "doesn't learn new systems well" part. You might want to talk to someone in your gene pool (say, Willy or Carrie) to see how they're adjusting before you jump on the Mac bandwagon. Just sayin'!
we always say to buy the very best mac you can afford. we've had ours for 6 years! and while it's a lot slower than what is coming out these days, i think it's pretty impressive that it's still going strong. kinda hard to say that about 'most' pcs. granted, we bought the fastest/biggest we could at the time. but, don't think you'll be disappointed to do the same! plus, if you get pc, my husband won't let me read your blog anymore... :[
Missy I am computer/ electronic de-funked. Jeff brought home a MAC and I love it. It is a little weird at first cause everything is on the left instead of the right. The photo capabilities are amazing and the movie maker is pretty neat. I'm still learning this beast but I do know it is safer (virus wise) than a PC. And with all the virus stuff around now a days its crazy! They also have MAC classes you can take at an apple store. :)
Great post thanks for sharing it.
