my kids always want to use my camera, but when they ask i usually tell them "no". and when i actually unbunch my panties and let them use it i can often be quoted as saying "be careful...it's a $500 dollar camera." over and over again.
you know what i need to do? listen to my own advice. because i tell my kids "the more special something is, the more it should be shared with others." another classic example of do as i say, right? so i am officially loosening my grip on my camera for several reasons...
1) it brings my children joy to use it
2) it was a gift to me, who am i to hoard it?
3) my children are worth WAY more than $500. this is a little way for me to show i value them.
4) i want to trust them, not control them
5) when i give them the camera, i may end up with pictures like this...

I think you're very brave, but yes - you did get some cute pics for your bravery.
Great shots! Looks like talented photographers run in the family!!
I know what you mean with your little ones handling your camera...but it sure was worth it: you got some AMAZING pictures! Found you through embracing the camera. :)
Adorable pics from your budding photographers :)
oh so lovely.
Love this post...what very good reminders. And those pictures are treasures!!!
We gave our kids full access to the video camera and Tony and I sit and watch the stuff they come up with and laugh until we're crying. It's Sooooo funny!
Love the shots your kiddo got! Very sweet!
MIssy, I have really enjoyed reading your blog! If you have a few minutes to spare, I would greatly appreciate your participation in a short survey I have created to learn more about people that have adopted from Ethiopia. Here's a link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/995NDKS
Thanks so much and best to you and your family!
