Notice how Santa is no longer just lurking on the outskirts of the nativity scene (in the previous post), but now he is smack dab in the middle of the action. Even replacing Mary herself.And now another Mary is MIA. We have a nativity we put outside and somehow, while in our storage room since last January, Joseph became a single parent family...
I promise we have nothing against Mary around here. I don't know what the deal is, but I can't very well put the Holy Family outside like that. This is history we're talking about here. Pretty important history.I don't really want to put anything up outside anyway because, of course, I waited until the temperatures became frigid to think about decorating the outside of the house.
But there is good news. Our quirky Christmas tree is looking a bit better after we tried to hide it under a sea of ribbon and decorations...
Not bad for a mangy eyesore.On getting a new tree for next year, I believe I have my three older children on Team Missy as well as my friends Rachel and Kristin. I think the only person on Team Bill is Dave Ramsey.

how very almost-2010 of you to have a nativity scene with two fathers ... with a significant age gap to boot! it's perhaps a bit sacrilegious, but i'm sure God understands ;)
I currently have a headless Joseph so maybe your Mary and my Joseph should get together. Also, you can put tissue paper in the stockings to make them not slouch. Just sayin'.
In our house, Dave Ramsey trumps ALL... good luck with that. :) We have a nasty tree too, that is why I have only a piece of it in the picture with the kids.

I think your tree looks nice (in the pictures at least). :) I LOVE the ribbon. However, I am joining team Missy because I know what it is like to have a janky tree. I scored a new one after Christmas last year on major clearance at Target. Good Luck! :)

Oh and BTW, thanks for mentioning Mikey today. It made me feel so "loved". I am still missing my beagle buddy, and can still get tears in my eyes when I start to think about him.

You are aware that Jeff would probably be on Team Bill, so it might be better if we never mention the mangey tree situation while Jeff is in the room. No sense in having to deal with our husbands conspiring against a new tree! :)
And where are the slouchy stockings?! I totally missed that. No big shock there.
I love the Dave Ramsey comment. And, we have almost the exact same colors on our living room walls...and the spiral sconce as well. I just thought that was funny. :-) Thanks for organizing all the mom stuff, Missy. I am looking forward to DCC.
