My silverware drawer is overflowing these days.
Why, you ask?
I have finally determined that it is because my precious children
are all bringing home silverware from school
and it has gotten mixed in with our own.
Tax-payer silverware.
Stolen tax-payer silverware.
It's not all my fault, you know.
They are responsible for their own actions, however illegal.
I guess I have raised them and they are technically stealing.
And I haven't returned them yet, so I am technically stealing.
That's on me.
But please note that I am not sending plastic spoons with them
because I am green.
Actually, it's because I keep forgetting to buy them.
Now since I have confessed this issue to my little corner
of the blog universe,
I guess I better go fish through my silverware drawer
and pay my debt to society by returning them tomorrow.
Next order of business: pay my overdue fees at the library.
Addendum: the official count is 21 spoons and 1 fork.
Complete humiliation.

hey missy!
how are you guys doing? how is your home study going? are you doing the training in october? (wow...i didn't know i had so many questions for you!)
hope all is well for you and your precious family!
You belong in Jail!
What did this Missy person do to a gas pump?
Just kidding-now you need to reverse this and send them back in the kids lunches. It is guaranteed that if you send a kid to school with silverware you will never see it again.
Super funny!!
I can't wait to hear what the school thinks.

I just opened up your blog at work, forgetting to mute my computer first. Unfortunately, the volume was up extremely loud, so my entire office got a taste of "bad boys" before I was able to mute it. Just thought you should know.
It could be worse with the spoons and forks...but I do think you should nip this in the bud, otherwise your children could be the ones who are someday nabbed at their 8-5 office job for pilfering yellow sticky notes, office pens, paper clips, official stationary. Please, do not take this lightly.
p.s. there might be recovery groups somewhere for "people like you."
I agree with beth. Just start packing them back into the lunches. You'll never see them again. Actually, I should look through your stash and see if any of MY silverware is in it from the times I've sent it to school and never saw it again.
It is sooo tempting to play the "bad boys" song next time Jack walks by my desk! :)
That is funny - mostly because there are SO many of them!! And, it reminds me that I think we still have a fork of yours at our house....wanna guess how long it's been there?!?!
You DO know that stealing silverware DOES show up on background checks for USCIS, don't you??? : )

Ummmmm . . . Missy? You didn't return your visitor badge today when you left the school. Is there a pattern here that we need to be concerned about? Perhaps your kids' "acquisitive" habits come naturally.

I loved your "about me"...it's so true that our kids bring out our deepest everything! Deepest love, deepest passion, deepest frusteration....all of it! I live in Vancouver WA, how about you?
